Describe your favorite family vacation?
My favorite vacation was a spontaneous camping trip to Yosemite. We went in late spring and were surprised by a heavy snow fall. Although we were not prepared for the cold we had a great time on hikes in shorts and blankets wrapped around us. Sometimes we would stop and all huddle under one blanket to catch our breath and regain feeling to our fingers. Half Dome is amazing when covered in snow – Even better when shared with family.

Your thoughts on being a Dad?
It’s the best thing ever.
How do you juggle family and work?
I don’t juggle family and work as well as I’d like. When I do it’s because I have scheduled the time and not allowed anything to get in its way.

Show love and respect for your children’s mother and her role.
What lessons have you learned from your own dad?
My father taught me the lessons of honesty, the virtue of hard work and respect all by his example.
How do you define your role in your family?
I am the ring-leader and cheerleader of my own circus.
Do you think the role of Dads today is different than a generation ago? If so, How?
I don’t believe that the role of fatherhood has changed but, the amount of involvement has increased. The demands on our children are greater than they were on me which means that I want to provide more support.
How do you think the mainstream media portrays Dads? Do you think that portrayal is accurate? What, if anything, would you tell the media about involved Dads?
The media loves to portray the incompetent father – Unfortunately, many father’s can relate to feeling inept and some children find pleasure in watching justification for their own recalcitrant behavior. Gladly, I believe that the portrayal is principally inaccurate. However, as they say, “Art replicates life” or is it, “Life replicates art” -- Oh, I never can remember.
